First Annual Turlach Ur Fall Dinner

An evening of great food and highland music, all locally grown!

October 11 at 5:30

First Presbyterian Church of Grinnell

dinner2  Turlach Ur performs in Grinnell College’s Sebring-Lewis Hall for the 2008 Thursdays in the Park concert series.

The Turlach Ur Pipe Band is celebrating the end of its first year as Iowa’s newest bagpipe band, and we want our fans to share in the fun!

Join us for a delicious dinner grown locally and prepared by Andrew Dunham of Grinnell Heritage Farm.  After dinner, sit back and enjoy the music of Turlach Ur.  There will be solo, small group and full band piping and drumming.  As a special treat, guest drumming instructor and six time west coast professional champion Malcolm Rosenberger will perform.  Those who attended Turlach Ur’s summer concert in Grinnell know what we’re talking about!

Don’t miss out on a great dinner (Andrew hopes to include “bashed neeps” on the menu!) and some really special music performed by some of the best pipers and drummers in the Midwest … also some of the youngest!

All proceeds after expenses will help young Turlach Ur pipers and drummers attend the next Winter Storm workshop in Kansas City.  This is one of the foremost Scottish music clinics in North America, and provides a huge boost for junior players.

Adults                                  $20
Adults 65 and over             $15
Children under 12              $12

After dinner, join us at the celiedh!  (That’s Gaelic for “party with bagpipes”.)  Starts at 8:30.  Location to be announced at dinner.
